Role Summary

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for leading, developing, and holding accountable a team of Specialty Sales Specialists to consistently achieve sales goals. This includes hiring, coaching, performance management, and ensuring execution of sales strategies in alignment with Acadia’s mission, values, and compliance standards. The RSM fosters a high-performance, customer-focused culture by setting clear expectations, providing regular coaching and feedback, and ensuring performance discussions and documentation are completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, and onboard top talent, ensuring team members have the skills and resources to succeed.
  • Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable through regular coaching, performance reviews, and documented follow-up.
  • Address performance issues promptly through direct, constructive conversations and formal documentation, in partnership with HR as needed.
  • Foster a customer-centric, results-driven culture through modeling strong relationships with key customers and decision makers.
  • Recognize and reward high performance, while addressing underperformance decisively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Business or Life Sciences preferred.
  • 5+ years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry with progression; at least 2 years of sales management experience; neuroscience and specialty sales experience strongly preferred for Regional Sales Manager roles.
  • 8+ years for Sr. Regional Sales Manager with at least 5 years of sales management experience; neuroscience and specialty sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams to exceed sales targets, manage performance, and have documented performance discussions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills; ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Skilled at verbal and written performance evaluations and formal documentation of employee performance.
  • Business acumen to identify future opportunities and anticipate customer needs.
  • Must live within the assigned region and near a major airport.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Travel up to 80% of the time and work after hours as required by travel schedule.
