Primary Responsibilities:
- Execute and promote products in alignment with sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and product promotion direction.
- Analyze local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize product use.
- Maintain current product, disease, competitive, and market reimbursement knowledge.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.) in territory.
- Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate persuasively with target audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Complete monitoring and reporting requirements (expenses, call reporting) using approved systems.
- Maintain full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Vanda policies.
- Meet industry-standard credentialing requirements for healthcare providers and customer facilities.
- Perform additional ad-hoc projects as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements:
- BS or BA with GPA > 3.0.
- Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred (otherwise may be considered for “Associate” role).
- Atypical anti-psychotic and/or orphan drug experience preferred.
- Specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management preferred.
- Reimbursement experience preferred.
- Existing relationships (or within 24 months) with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in assigned territory preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
- Self-starter; goal and results-driven with a proven track record.
- “Hunter” mentality; strong territory relationships/knowledge.
- Ability to travel (may include overnights); out-of-territory travel to HQs/training/meetings; work hours may include evenings.
- Must reside within territory geography.

- Ability to lift/move items up to 15 pounds occasionally.
