Primary Responsibilities
- Execute and promote products aligned to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and product promotion activities.
- Analyze local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize product use in the territory.
- Maintain current product, disease, competitive, and market reimbursement knowledge.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.) in territory.
- Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate with target audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Complete monitoring and reporting requirements (expenses and call reporting) using approved systems.
- Maintain compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Meet industry-standard credentialing requirements for healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
- Additional ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
- BS or BA with GPA > 3.0.
- Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience preferred (may be considered for “Associate” if not).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
- Must reside within territory geography.
- Ability to travel (may include overnights); occasional out-of-territory travel and meetings outside normal hours.
- May occasionally lift/move up to 15 pounds.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Atypical anti-psychotic and/or orphan drug experience.
- Specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management.
- Reimbursement experience.
- Existing relationships (or within 24 months) with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in territory.
- Existing strong territory relationships and knowledge.
- Self-starter; goal- and results-driven; “hunter” mentality; strong organizational/comms skills; computer proficient.
