Primary Responsibilities
- Execute and promote products aligned to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and product promotion direction.
- Analyze local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize product use in territory.
- Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competitive landscape, and market reimbursement.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (e.g., budgets, time) in territory.
- Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate effectively with target audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Complete monitoring/reporting requirements (expenses and call reporting) using approved systems.
- Maintain compliance with applicable laws/regulations and company policies.
- Meet healthcare provider/customer facility credentialing requirements; complete ad-hoc projects as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements
- BS/BA with GPA > 3.0.
- Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred (may consider βAssociateβ for those not meeting experience).
- Preferred: atypical anti-psychotic and/or orphan drug experience; specialty experience in psychiatry/bipolar/depression/CNS/pain management; reimbursement experience.
- Preferred relationships with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in assigned territory (or within 24 months).
Performance Competencies / Skills
- Goal/results driven; clinical, patient-centric, tactical; excellent interpersonal/verbal/written communication.
- Ability to navigate complex organizations; strong organization/work ethic.
- Independent priority management; sound decision-making; adjust quickly to roadblocks.
- Customer-focused, self-motivated, computer proficient.
- Valid driverβs license with acceptable record; ability to travel (including overnights) and work some off-hours; may lift/move up to 15 lbs.
- Must reside within territory geography.
