Role Summary

Neuroscience Account Manager (Psychiatry) in Hartford, CT West. Responsible for exceeding sales goals by delivering value to customers through differentiated products and services within the neuroscience portfolio, reporting to the Neuroscience District Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and promote products in alignment to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and strategy direction related to product promotion activities.
  • Analyze local market, develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize appropriate product use in the territory.
  • Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competition, and market reimbursement.
  • Determine, implement, and monitor resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.) within the territory.
  • Communicate effectively using advanced selling and negotiation skills to identified target audiences.
  • Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
  • Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
  • Manage travel and promotional budget.
  • Fulfill monitoring and reporting requirements including expenses and call reporting using approved systems.
  • Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Meet and comply with credentialing requirements of healthcare providers and facilities.
  • Participate in additional ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) with GPA > 3.0.
  • Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience preferred.
  • Candidates not meeting experience requirements may be considered for an Associate role.
  • Atypical antipsychotic experience and/or orphan drug experience preferred.
  • Preferred specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management.
  • Reimbursement experience preferred.
  • Existing relationships with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
  • Self-starter, goal- and results-driven with a proven track record of above-average results.
  • Fortitude to sell and a hunter mentality; strong territory knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to travel (may include overnights); potentially travel outside the territory and to HQs for training and meetings.
  • Work hours may include meetings outside normal hours; must reside within territory geography.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to navigate complex markets and organizations.
  • Clinical, patient-centric approach with strategic thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills; proficient with computer tools.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required (BS or BA).
