Primary Responsibilities
- Execute and promote products aligned to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and strategy related to product promotion.
- Analyze the local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize appropriate product use in the defined territory.
- Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competition, and market reimbursement.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.) within the territory.
- Communicate persuasively using advanced selling and negotiation skills to targeted audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Complete required monitoring and reporting (expenses and call reporting) using approved systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Vanda policies.
- Meet industry-standard credentialing requirements for healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
- Additional ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements
- BS or BA with GPA > 3.0.
- Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred; may be considered for โ€œAssociateโ€ role if not met.
- Atypical anti-psychotic and/or orphan drug experience preferred.
- Preferred: psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management specialty experience.
- Reimbursement experience preferred.
- Preferred: relationships with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in territory (or within 24 months).
- Valid driverโ€™s license; clean driving history.
- Reside within territory geography.

- Strong communication (interpersonal, verbal, written); patient-centric and clinical.
- Ability to navigate complex markets; organize priorities; adjust to roadblocks.
- Customer-focused, self-motivated, computer proficient.
- Travel required (may include overnights); out-of-territory travel to HQs/training/meetings.
