About the Role
- Responsible for a specific geographic territory and the successful promotion and growth of Neurocrine products.
- Manages and develops long-term relationships with physicians and other customers for targeted accounts in assigned territory; represents Neurocrine brand(s) and approved indications.
- Educates external customers (e.g., physicians, nurses, medical assistants, case managers) on benefits of product(s).
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to)
- Sales and Market Development: drives product acceptance and growth via targeted education and strategic account management; executes territory sales strategies (in-person and virtual) to meet/exceed objectives; identifies and addresses territory-specific opportunities/barriers; manages promotional resources and budget.
- Customer Relationship Management: builds/maintains relationships with healthcare providers (Psychiatrists, Neurologists, NPs, PAs), clinical staff (RNs, LPNs, PharmDs), key opinion leaders/advocacy groups, community mental health clinics/LTC facilities, local/regional payers, and pharmacies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: establishes communication with managed care, Marketing, Patient Access, Medical Science Liaisons, and medical communications teams.
- Professional Standards: upholds ethical standards, including FDA guidelines and industry best practices; demonstrates integrity and models behaviors aligned with compliance policies.
- Work Expectations: maintains full field presence Monday–Friday; flexibility for occasional evening/weekend events; other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education/Experience: BS/BA in science or related field + minimum 4 years commercial pharma/biotech (3+ years specialty pharma or LTC, Psychology, or Neurology sales highly desired). Close-door/specialty pharmacy distribution strongly preferred; psychiatry/neurology/antipsychotic experience strongly preferred. OR Master’s in science/related field + 2+ years related experience.
- Professional Expertise: knowledge of best practices; understanding of healthcare regulatory/enforcement environments; proven track record meeting/exceeding sales objectives and launch success in complex environments; continuously improves tools/processes.
- Leadership & Teamwork: ability to lead/participate in cross-functional teams; leadership skills directing/indirectly directing others.
- Technical Skills: strong computer skills; proficiency with sales platforms and business intelligence tools (e.g., Salesforce.com, Oracle, SAP, Veeva); excellent project management.
- Critical Thinking, Communication, and Relationship Management: strong analytical/problem-solving; excellent verbal/written communication; ability to navigate complex accounts and understand specialty fulfillment/payer requirements.
