Job Summary
National Account Manager (NAM) responsible for developing and executing strategic account plans to optimize access, sales and outcomes for Akebiaβs approved product by building partnerships with Large and Medium Dialysis Organizations (LDOs/MDOs) and key leadership, and with Nephrology Large Group Practices (LGPs) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs). Drives dialysis pull-through of national account strategies and alignment/execution of Vafseo adoption across LDO/MDO and LGP.
Primary region: Northern California (San Francisco, Fresno, Oakland/Fremont, Sacramento)
Essential Functions & Duties
- Develop and execute national/regional account strategies aligned with business objectives
- Drive initiatives to secure/expand Vafseo access and support account adoption
- Lead business planning and quarterly business reviews
- Develop and execute programs with LDO/MDO RVPs/Area Directors/RQMs and LGPs
- Support Regional Medical Director and physician programs
- Communicate clinical, business, and health economic data
- Advocate for Vafseo utilization; support clinical, health economic, and organizational performance goals
- Maintain customer profiles/affiliations; meet MBO metrics; communicate changes
- Compliantly work with Medical Affairs to educate customers and support initiatives
- Analyze information and deliver high-impact presentations
- Partner with Legal/Regulatory/Compliance on communication strategies
- Drive HCP pull-through of initiatives
- Travel up to 50% within the U.S.
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ yearsβ experience in renal or similar therapeutic space
- Proven account management track record
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years biopharmaceutical industry experience
- Relationships with national dialysis customers and/or Nephrology LGPs
- Strategic partnership development; strong planning/organization; excellent communication
- Advanced business planning/negotiation; compliance mindset; team selling
- Startup/small company ability; strong presentation presence
- Clinical/technical/scientific knowledge in complex disease state
- Renal business/reimbursement logistics knowledge (provider/payer)
- Experience integrating health economics and Medical Affairs resources
- CMS TDAPA reimbursement knowledge a plus
Compensation/Benefits
- Targeted Base Salary: $178,664β$220,703 USD; additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO; bonus/incentive/equity may apply.
