Job Summary
The National Account Manager (NAM) develops and executes strategic account plans to optimize access, sales, and outcomes for Akebiaβs approved product. Builds partnerships with Large/Medium Dialysis Organizations (LDOs/MDOs), Nephrology Large Group Practices (LGPs), and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs). Drives dialysis pull-through of Vafseo national account strategies and aligns and executes LDO/MDO strategies for Vafseo adoption.
Essential Functions & Duties
- Develop and execute national/regional account strategies aligned with business objectives
- Drive initiatives to secure/expand Vafseo access and support account adoption
- Lead strategic business planning and quarterly business reviews with account executives
- Develop and execute programs with LDO/MDO leadership and LGPs
- Support Regional Medical Director/physician programs
- Communicate clinical, business, and health-economic data effectively
- Advocate for Vafseo utilization aligned to customer clinical/economic/organizational goals
- Maintain customer profiles/affiliations; meet MBO metrics and communicate changes
- Work compliantly with Medical Affairs to educate customers and support initiatives
- Analyze information and deliver impactful presentations
- Partner with Legal/Regulatory/Compliance on communication strategies
- Ensure HCP pull-through of DO/LGP-concerted initiatives
- Collaborate with internal team to incorporate initiatives into planning
- Travel up to 50% within the U.S.
Qualifications
Required:
- BA/BS required
- 5+ years in Renal or similar therapeutic space
- Proven account management success
Preferred:
- 10+ years in biopharma
- Relationships with national dialysis customers and/or Nephrology LGPs
- Strategic partnership development, planning/negotiation, strong communication/presentation
- Reimbursement logistics knowledge (provider/payer); health economics + Medical Affairs integration
- Prior sales experience; CMS TDAPA knowledge (plus)

- Targeted base salary: $178,664β$220,703 USD
