National Account Director (Optum & Emisar)

Role: National Account Director responsible for securing formulary access and developing strategic relationships with payers for Arrowhead’s commercial-stage RNAi therapeutics, including the recently approved Redemplo for Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome and pipeline candidates. Responsibilities: manage payer relationships across the Emisar GPO and Optum PBM segments, communicate product value, lead contract negotiations, develop account plans, and support cross-functional teams to address access challenges. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree; 10+ years in pharma/biotech with strong field-based market access and payer engagement experience; at least 5 years of national payer account management, especially with Optum enterprise. Preferred: advanced degrees (MBA, MPH, PharmD). HighValue: focus on managed care, Medicare Part D, rare disease/cardiometabolic products, and payer contracting in the US health landscape. WorkSetup: field-based, with periodic travel up to 50% to the Pasadena HQ.
