Brief Description
The National Account Director β Emisar / Optum / United is responsible for developing and managing all aspects of the relationship with Emisar, Optum Rx and United Healthcare. Ensures appropriate market access within assigned accounts and serves as key Market Access contact across Commercial and Medicare books of business.
Essential Functions
- Execute market access strategies to ensure appropriate access for the Jazz portfolio across Commercial and Medicare at Emisar, Optum Rx, and United Healthcare.
- Build relationships with key decision-makers/influencers impacting coverage and reimbursement.
- Influence policies, guidelines, and contracts to facilitate timely, clinically appropriate coverage, access, and reimbursement.
- Create, maintain, and execute stakeholder engagement plans; represent Jazz at PBM/Health Plan industry events.
- Coordinate internal and external partners to optimize reimbursement support services.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews; create and maintain strategic account plans.
- Collaborate with Regional Account Directors and internal stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Legal, Access Services, PVO/HEOR).
- Serve as single point of contact for account activities/resources; anticipate obstacles and develop mitigation plans.
- Provide SME input for Market Access and brand strategy; strategically negotiate discount agreements.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 10+ years pharma/biopharmaceutical experience; 4+ years success as an Account Manager calling on National commercial and/or government/Medicaid payers.
- 2+ years direct management or team leadership experience.
- Ability to build networks within targeted accounts; lead cross-organizational projects.
- Understanding of healthcare/payers, formulary/PDL, coverage and reimbursement, and compliance laws/regulations.
- High proficiency in business acumen, communication, critical thinking/decision-making, results, influence, interpersonal skills, planning/organization, and self-management.
- Demonstrate core values: integrity, passion, collaboration, innovation, pursuit of excellence.
