Medical Affairs
Responsibilities:
- Develops, executes, and maintains high-impact territory plans, including HCP and investigator engagement plans aligned with therapeutic area objectives; uses data and analytics to find and maximize opportunities.
- Identifies, gains access to, and builds professional, customer-centric relationships with external experts in the assigned geography.
- Delivers territory plan objectives, meets project deadlines, achieves annual functional goals; generates and documents meaningful data point observations (DPOs).
- Applies core capabilities in segmentation, DPOs, and optimal resource utilization.
- Ensures compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures, including accurate and timely documentation of HCP interactions.
- Provides education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle to external HCPs and other stakeholders.
- Stays current on market issues/trends and product/therapeutic-area knowledge; builds awareness and relationships in the medical community.
- Supports R&D research initiatives (e.g., site evaluation/identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and external collaboration management).
- Maintains cross-functional field partnerships (e.g., in-field commercial teams, site management/monitoring and clinical research associates, medical outcome science liaisons) and supports account plans.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences from an accredited university required; advanced degree preferred; doctorate strongly preferred; significant relevant clinical/industry experience may substitute for education.
- 2+ years of clinical/scientific/research/industry experience preferred.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to translate territory/corporate needs into action.
- Ability to apply scientific storytelling, identifying mobilizers, medical challenger, and active listening.
- Meet HCIR credentialing requirements (may include background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination).
- Travel up to 75%.
