Medical Affairs
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based scientific expert responsible for advancing scientific and medical understanding of AbbVie’s therapeutic areas through high-quality, non-promotional scientific exchange.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, balanced, compliant scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and scientific experts.
- Build and sustain credible, trust-based relationships enabling two-way dialogue and Scientific Intelligence.
- Interpret and communicate AbbVie and therapeutic landscape data, disease state knowledge, and evolving standards of care.
- Generate, document, and share healthcare professional perspectives and Scientific Intelligence to inform medical planning and evidence generation.
- Support evidence generation by raising scientific awareness of clinical research and engaging investigators.
- Translate complex scientific/clinical information into clear discussions aligned to stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs/MHI, Clinical Development, Evidence Generation, and the In-Field team (IFT).
- Plan and execute scientific engagement activities aligned to medical objectives and territory priorities.
- Use approved tools/channels to optimize exchange while maintaining full compliance.
- Ensure accurate, timely, compliant documentation of interactions and Scientific Intelligence.

Qualifications:
- Advanced scientific degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD, PA, NP, or equivalent).
- Experience in Medical Affairs, clinical research, academic science, or other scientific/healthcare roles.
- Evidence-based scientific discussion experience, ideally in multiple myeloma.
- Foundational disease/mechanism/standards of care knowledge.
- Working knowledge of clinical research principles, evidence types, and study design.
- Experience interpreting literature/clinical trial/RWE; cross-functional collaboration.
- Travel up to 75%.
- Multiple myeloma experience strongly preferred.
- Must live in the territory or be willing to self-relocate within the territory.
