Medical Affairs
Responsibilities:
- Develops, executes and maintains high impact territory plans, including HCP and Investigator engagement plans aligned with Hematology/Oncology objectives; uses data and analytics to identify and maximize opportunities.
- Identifies, gains access to, and develops professional, customer-centric relationships with external experts in the assigned geography.
- Delivers territory plan objectives, meets project deadlines, achieves annual functional goals; generates and documents meaningful data point observations (DPOs).
- Practices core capabilities in segmentation, DPOs, and optimal resource utilization.
- Ensures compliance with applicable Corporate/Divisional policies and procedures, including accurate and timely documentation of HCP interactions.
- Provides education to external HCPs and researchers on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle.
- Continuously educates self on market issues/trends and product knowledge; supports research initiatives at the request of R&D (site evaluation/identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, external collaboration management).
- Creates/maintains cross-functional field partnerships (in-field commercial teams; site management/monitoring and clinical research associates; Therapeutic Area, HEOR; Medical Outcome Science Liaisons) and supports account plans to meet shared business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree preferred in a relevant scientific discipline; doctorate strongly preferred; significant clinical/industry experience may substitute.
- β₯2 years clinical, scientific/research, or industry related experience (or equivalent preferred).
- Problem-solving and analytic skills to translate territory and corporate needs into action.
- Leadership attributes aligned with company initiatives.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply scientific storytelling, identifying mobilizers, powerful questions, and active listening.
- Meet HCIR credentialing requirements (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof).
- Willing to travel up to 75%.
- Must live in the territory or be willing to self-relocate within the territory.
