Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders, academic centers, and researchers to ensure access to current medical and scientific information.
- Present scientific information and education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products across the product lifecycle to healthcare professionals.
- Support research initiatives and physician-initiated projects, including site evaluation/identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and external collaboration management.
- Prepare/expand marketplace in new therapeutic areas by creating awareness and relationships in the medical community.
- Build and collaborate with internal cross-functional partnerships; work with in-field commercial teams to develop and execute account plans; serve as a scientific resource to commercial partners.
- Answer unsolicited medical questions and address other clinically related medical information issues.
- Provide ongoing training to medical affairs, field sales, and other internal personnel as directed.
- Practice core capabilities in strategic segmentation and optimal resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with corporate/divisional policies, including accurate/timely documentation of HCP interactions; maintain annual expenses within assigned budget.
- Live in the territory or willing to self-relocate within New Jersey.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, APP such as Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner) in a relevant discipline; doctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical discipline.
- Typically 2+ years relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other software; excellent written/verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills, presentation/teaching skills; ability to work independently and in teams; strong planning/organizational skills.
- Meet health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof).
- Ability to learn and convey technical clinical and non-clinical information; engage audiences and support comprehension/retention.
- Travel up to 75%.
