Job Summary
BioCryst Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for the US Medical Affairs team. Field-based role building strategic peer-to-peer relationships with key Health Care Providers (HCP) in the assigned region. Provides credible, unbiased scientific information and supports execution of the Medical Affairs Plan.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop working knowledge of BioCryst, its products, and current medical/scientific research/publications
- Establish BioCrystโ€™s Medical Affairs presence through long-term scientific relationships with thought leaders and patient organizations
- Represent BioCryst at scientifically and medically relevant events in the designated geography
- Provide medical/scientific presentations to internal and external groups
- Share field insights and feedback with internal stakeholders based on discussions with HCPs
- Support professional meetings/congresses: collect insights, competitive intelligence, and develop meeting tools
- Maintain rare disease clinical/scientific/technical expertise; review scientific journals and attend key meetings
- Respond to and document unsolicited requests for scientific information (including products in development)
- Manage development/communication of clinical and value-based materials (publications, conference data, educational materials) for customers and internal training
- Plan and execute advisory boards; develop/deliver clinical presentations as needed
- Support clinical initiatives (site identification/feasibility, trial recruitment, registries, approved data presentations)
- Support commercial functions (internal training/material review, speaker programs, competitive insights)
- Adhere to corporate and healthcare compliance guidance

Experience & Qualifications
- Pharm.D., Ph.D., or M.D required
- 3+ years related experience (clinical, managed care, or industry); rare disease experience preferred
- Ability to establish relationships with influential thought leaders
- Strategic thinking; ability to work in a regulated environment and align medical/commercial strategies
- Strong ability to summarize and present complex information clearly and accurately
- Business acumen and knowledge of industry/value proposition/competitors
- Excellent communication/collaboration skills
- Compliance with required regulatory guidelines
- Travel and valid driverโ€™s license required; weekend travel may be required
- Must live in a Piedmont Region state (VA, NC, SC, TN, KY, GA).
