Medical Affairs
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a field-based scientific expert who supports scientific and business objectives for a designated therapeutic area across the product life cycle within an assigned geography.
- Communicate AbbVie science to healthcare professionals; develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers.
- Present scientific information and education on disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products to physicians and healthcare professionals.
- Support research initiatives (e.g., site evaluation, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, external collaboration management).
- Act as an internal medical/scientific resource to develop medically accurate, balanced, and regulatory-compliant materials and communications.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners and in-field commercial teams on account plans.
- Provide ongoing training to medical affairs, field sales, and other internal personnel; maintain up-to-date clinical and competitor knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with corporate/divisional policies and accurate, timely HCP documentation; manage expenses within budget parameters.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, APP such as Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner); doctorate strongly preferred.
- Typically 0β2 years relevant experience.
- Strong problem-solving/analytic skills; proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and excellent written/verbal communication.
- Ability to learn scientific storytelling/listening skills.
- Meet HCIR credentialing requirements (e.g., background checks, drug screens, immunization proof).
- Ability to convey clinical/non-clinical technical information and engage audiences.
- Travel up to 75%.
