Role Summary

The Medical Specialist (Sales Representative), Gastroenterology (MS) will engage Gastroenterologists and other key customers within an assigned geographical universe, presenting clinically focused selling messages to create and grow revenue, and consistently deliver product goals. The MS will demonstrate strong and consistent sales performance that exceeds forecast and expectations related to product goals, in a compliant manner with Regeneron policies and all US promotion regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy and execute tactics within key Gastroenterology accounts to generate product utilization.
  • Build strong working relationships with experts, Gastroenterologists, nurses, office staff, and other healthcare personnel in the assigned geography and with patient advocacy groups as directed.
  • Collaborate with district colleagues, alliance partners, and other field-based and home office teams to address customer needs and market dynamics, supporting brand and corporate objectives.
  • Help lead initiatives to support sales success (e.g., participate in industry congresses, local and regional meetings, and medical conferences).

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree/certifications are a plus.
  • Required: Minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 2 years selling in the Gastroenterology market or similar subcutaneous self-injectable biologic specialty market.
  • Required: Experience with in-servicing and training office staff, nurses, and office managers.
  • Required: Ability to partner and collaborate with internal field teams and alliance partners; ability to travel and cover large geographic territories.
  • Preferred: Specialty pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience in complex markets with diverse customer segments; demonstrated integrity and compliance with guidelines.

  • Advanced clinically-based selling skills.
  • Strong relationship-building with diverse stakeholders and institutions (including large groups and ambulatory centers).
  • Strategic thinking, market analysis, and execution in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and launches.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or other advanced education/certifications a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel and cover large geographic territories.
