Medical Science Liaison, Uncontrolled Gout - Rare Disease - Ohio (Territory: Ohio)
What You Will Do
- Serve as a scientific liaison to the medical/scientific community; establish, develop, and maintain relationships with prominent experts and clinicians throughout the US.
- Network and partner with external customers (medical thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors, managed care decision makers, pharmacy directors) in alignment with compliance, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
- Understand, integrate, and communicate scientific/medical information and the commercial value of products.
- Work self-directed in a constantly changing environment; obtain, integrate, and communicate customer feedback.
- Pair customers’ unmet needs with available internal resources.
- Collaborate across functional areas to identify opportunities addressed via scientific, medical, and health economic information.
- Identify potential new speakers and train for sponsored external speaker programs.
- Participate in national/regional conferences and scientific venues to support Medical/Clinical strategy, track trends, and maintain relationships.
- With medical affairs and clinical development teams, evaluate external clinical research collaborations and facilitate IITs and company-sponsored trials.
- Monitor competitive environment and provide feedback to senior leadership.
What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree; OR Master’s degree + 3 years Medical Affairs experience; OR Bachelor’s degree + 5 years Medical Affairs experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)
- 2 years proven experience in scientific/medical affairs at a biotech/pharmaceutical company
- Exceptional oral/written communication and interpersonal skills; strong networking ability
- Travel up to 60%; may work up to 15-hour days due to travel
- Ability to learn new business applications (PC, iPad)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Professional, proactive; strong interpersonal; excellent written/verbal communication
