The Position (Territory: Southern CA, NV and HI)
Field Medical Director (field-based) providing medical and scientific support for Organon’s Dermatology programs. Engages in scientific exchange with healthcare and managed markets customers; identifies pre-clinical/clinical/post-marketing study investigators; responds to customer inquiries with focused, balanced clinical and scientific information; delivers clinical/scientific information that differentiates products; provides regional and national clinical support and data presentations.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and maintain long-term collaborative relationships with HCPs, professional organizations, patient advocacy groups, payers, decision makers, and other key stakeholders.
- Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in dermatology.
- Present data and conduct balanced peer-to-peer scientific dialogue consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate on scientific communication plans, medical-to-medical materials, and research (including investigator-initiated trials) with Clinical Development for investigator selection and site performance/recruitment.
- Assist in scientific training for internal colleagues using approved materials.
- Provide scientific expertise/support for speaker training and advisory boards as requested.
- Represent the company at national and regional medical meetings to support awareness, medical information activities, and scientific exchange.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information per policies and procedures.
Required Education/Experience & Skills
- PharmD/PhD/MD/NP/PA or equivalent; 5 years clinical practice and/or pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Dermatology or Allergy/Immunology experience preferred.
- Strong relationship-building with HCPs/decision makers; excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication/presentation skills; ability to develop scientific engagement goals.
- Understanding of clinical research methodologies; ability to evaluate/translate scientific material credibly.
- Travel up to ~50% when appropriate.
- Self-starter; works in fast-paced environments; delivers results; handles ambiguity; independent, prioritized multi-program management.
