Medical Science Liaison (MSL) β€” Field-based (California and Hawaii)

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Provide field-based scientific exchange and communication of FDA-approved and pipeline products.
- Work within the MSL team’s objectives for FDA-approved products.
- Identify, establish, and maintain scientific relationships with opinion leaders.
- Facilitate scientific development of pipeline compounds at research centers and secure company presence in designated therapeutic areas.
- Support clinical operations as needed in Jazz-sponsored research.
- Serve as primary liaison with investigators pursuing investigator-initiated research.
- Partner cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Clinical Development.
- Document and forward adverse event reports per company policy.
- Attend and provide scientific support at regional and national congress meetings.
- Develop and prioritize solutions; understand customer needs.
- Coach other team members.
- Manage at least two large cross-functional projects while maintaining geographic responsibilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Communicate scientific data to internal/external customers (including opinion leaders and managed care organizations).
- Knowledge of geography and key opinion leaders (preferred).
- Understand federal/state regulatory requirements for field-based personnel.
- Build trust with opinion leaders.
- Collaborative networking across stakeholders (commercial/R&D, academic institutions, managed care, medical/pharmacy directors).
- Ability to work evenings/weekends.
- Travel ~60% of work days.
- Valid driver’s license; live within 60 miles of a major airport.

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
- Advanced doctorate degree (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD or equivalent).
- 0–2 years pharmaceutical industry and/or clinical/research experience (MSL experience preferred).
- Preference for Sleep Medicine experience (Neurology/Psychiatry or related backgrounds considered).
