Medical Science Liaison (MSL) β€” Field-based (California and Hawaii)

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Provide field-based scientific exchange and communication of FDA-approved and pipeline products
- Work within the Medical Science Liaison team’s objectives for FDA-approved products
- Identify, establish, and maintain scientific relationships with opinion leaders
- Facilitate scientific development of pipeline compounds at research centers and secure company presence in designated therapeutic areas
- Support clinical operations for Jazz Pharmaceuticals sponsored research, as needed
- Serve as primary liaison with investigators for investigator-initiated research
- Align with Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Clinical Development groups
- Document and forward adverse event reports per company policy
- Attend and provide scientific support at regional and national congress meetings
- Develop and prioritize solutions; understand needs of customers
- Proactively peer-coach other team members
- Manage at least two large cross-functional projects while maintaining geographical responsibilities

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Communicate scientific data to internal/external customers (including opinion leaders and managed care organizations)
- Geography and key opinion leaders knowledge preferred
- Understand applicable federal/state regulatory requirements
- Ability to build trust/relationships with opinion leaders
- Collaborative networking with internal/external stakeholders (commercial/R&D, academic institutions, managed care, medical/pharmacy directors)
- Ability to work evenings/weekends
- Travel ~60% of work days
- Valid driver’s license; live within 60 miles of a major airport

Education/Licenses:
- Advanced doctorate (PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent)
- 0–2 years pharma and/or clinical/research experience (MSL experience preferred)
- Sleep Medicine experience preferred; Neurology/Psychiatry or related backgrounds considered
