Position Summary
- Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based scientific resource supporting Medical Affairs within an assigned therapeutic area.
Primary Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain scientific relationships with national/regional KOLs, HCPs, patient advocacy organizations, and centers of excellence.
- Lead scientific exchange to communicate data, address medical inquiries, and support awareness of current/emerging therapies.
- Support Phase 2, Phase 3b, and Phase 4 clinical research activities, including investigator engagement and research proposal facilitation.
- Maintain deep scientific, clinical, and therapeutic expertise across the portfolio and relevant disease states.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, HEOR, Market Access, Commercial, and other internal partners per compliance requirements.
- Gather and communicate field insights, emerging trends, and unmet patient/provider needs.
- Provide scientific/educational support; represent the company at medical congresses and industry events.
- Support internal training (speaker development and field team education).
Qualifications / Required
- PharmD, PhD, MD/DO, or DNP in a related field.
- Minimum 5 years biopharmaceutical industry experience.
Preferred
- Psychiatry or neurology experience.
Skills / Knowledge
- Scientific/clinical/therapeutic area expertise; regulatory/compliance/commercial/clinical knowledge.
- Experience preparing/reviewing Medical Affairs materials (including promotional material review).
- Expertise in scientific and drug information communication.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Travel up to 75%; residence within the territory or near a major airport.
