Medical Science Liaison (MSL) — field-based (travel 30–50%); states included: MI, KY, OH, IN.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and HCP stakeholders in strategic disease states.
- Provide fair-balanced scientific/clinical information and presentations in academic/community/provider settings (group and 1:1) responding to unsolicited questions as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Clinical to improve patient enrollment in Phathom-sponsored trials by identifying sites and engaging investigators.
- Serve as primary liaison to investigators interested in investigator-initiated research.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned to regional/national strategy.
- Support market landscape/competitive intelligence by sharing emerging clinical/scientific insights with internal stakeholders.
- Gather and share insights from KOLs/HCPs/investigators; provide scientific support at medical congresses.
- Drive within territory (automobile; some areas may require airplane travel).
Qualifications & Required/Preferred Skills:
- Advanced degree in life sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD, etc.) required.
- Prior/current participation in Medical Affairs Fellowship/Internship preferred; MSL experience preferred.
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical medical affairs or as a healthcare provider strongly preferred.
- Product launch experience and GI therapeutic area experience preferred.
- Knowledge of PhRMA/AGA and relevant guidelines; clinical development process and ICH-GCP.
- Maintain scientific credibility while commercially supportive; excellent communication/presentation skills; strong teamwork and credibility.
