Position Medical Science Liaison, Rheumatology (Field - NYC, Long Island)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with academic/community research thought leaders, HCPs, and access stakeholders to answer scientific, unsolicited product, and HEOR questions.
- Use multiple interaction channels (1:1, group presentations, remote, etc.); demonstrate proficiency with scientific resources.
- Present accurate scientific information to TLs/HCPs and respond to questions in compliance with ethical/legal guidelines and local procedures.
- Assess the medical landscape by meeting with TL/HCPs/access stakeholders; continuously update knowledge on treatment strategies, products, unmet needs, clinical trials, and HEOR.
- Understand competitive landscape and prepare to address customer information needs.
- Identify opportunities to partner with HCPs on disease initiatives, collaborative research, and investigator-sponsored research aligned with BMS objectives.
- Attend medical congresses/local/regional meetings; collect and communicate meaningful medical insights to support strategy and business decisions.
Contribute to the Medical Plan
- Develop geography-specific Field Medical and TL interaction plans; contribute to cross-functional institution/account plans.
- Deliver scientifically meaningful medical programs/projects per local medical plans.
Provide Medical Support
- Establish compliant, customer-centric collaboration with cross-matrix field teams.
- Support training and provide scientific updates to internal stakeholders.
- Provide scientific support at promotional meetings.
- Participate in assigned congress activities.
Support Clinical Trial Activities
- Support interventional and non-interventional research studies (site identification/assessment, recruitment discussions).
- Provide feasibility recommendations to clinical development; support ISR submission/execution and follow-up.
- Ensure investigator understanding of pharmacovigilance procedures; alert appropriate personnel of adverse events.
- Support CRO-sponsored studies.
Position Requirements
- MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, NP with disease-area experience or broad medical/pharmaceutical background.
- Disease-area knowledge; understanding of scientific publications.
- Knowledge of clinical trial design/process, national healthcare/access environment, and HEOR core concepts.
- Excellent English (spoken/written).
Experience Desired
- 2+ years in clinical and/or pharmaceutical environment; prior MSL experience.
- Independent/teamwork skills; translate scientific/clinical data for physicians.
- Strong communication/presentation; build peer-to-peer relationships.
- Ability to quickly learn new subject areas; demonstrate BMS values.
Essential Qualification
- Ability to drive a company-provided car; safe, responsible driving history.
Travel Requirement
- Travel required; field-based role living in territory or within 50 miles of territory borders.

- US salary range (Field, US): $166,090–$201,262.
