Field Based Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

Responsibilities:
- Execute external engagement strategy aligned to the therapeutic portfolio and implement field external engagement plan aligned to therapy area strategies
- Identify External Experts, professional groups, decision makers, and key stakeholders in assigned therapy area and/or geography
- Respond compliantly to unsolicited information requests from healthcare professionals regarding licensed or un-licensed medicines and indications; provide factual, fair, balanced, scientifically rigorous responses in line with company standards, local codes, guidelines, and laws
- Disseminate safety information via Medical Affairs/R&D direction or the Dear Healthcare Provider Letter (DHPL) process; conduct scientific exchange and provide scientific/pipeline presentations to formulary committees and HCPs per documented unsolicited requests
- Maintain expertise in evolving therapeutic/scientific areas and competitor medicines/vaccines
- Contribute (if required) to medical portions of regional account planning/training sessions
- Attend and contribute to national and regional scientific/medical meetings
- Support clinical development activities and programs (GSK and investigator-sponsored studies); collaborate with R&D to improve site performance
- Conduct discussions/meetings with steering committee members, advisory boards, consultants, etc.
- Provide scientific training for GSK sales representatives and training for HCPs; assist with GSK-sponsored speaker training events
- Partner with matrix colleagues (e.g., sales, marketing, market access) to keep strategies patient- and business-focused

Basic Qualifications:
- Pharm. D or Ph. D, DNP, or MD (medical/clinical focus)
- 2+ years’ experience in pharmacology and pharmacotherapy in humans with practical clinical application
- Must live within the specified territory

Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-doctoral training residency in clinical/pharmaceutical practice
- Pharmaceutical industry or medical liaison experience (therapy area experience preferred)
- Clinical experience demonstrating decision-making authority for patient care
- Above-average computer literacy/software experience
