Medical Affairs
Main Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted scientific partner; conduct timely, appropriate, frequent scientific exchanges with external experts.
- Execute stakeholder engagement plans to gather data and develop/share medical insights to enhance medical messages, plans, and future research.
- Stay current on medical/scientific developments; identify and assess research opportunities and support evidence-generation plans.
- Recognize, record, and share stakeholder insights to deepen understanding of patient/consumer/regulator/payer/HCP needs and unmet needs.
- Maintain compliant communications with internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs, Medical Information, Commercial Operations).
- Engage external stakeholders in medical/scientific information exchange (1:1 and group settings).
- Build long-term peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other stakeholders.
- Understand local/state/regional/federal/national healthcare policies and guidelines impacting clinical practice.
- Map, identify, profile, and prioritize stakeholders aligned to the therapeutic area medical plan; pursue value-based partnerships.
- Use the Scientific Engagement Model to plan territory/stakeholder strategy and congress/medical presence activities.
- Organize educational meetings/local scientific advisory boards; support speaker training.
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests.
- Gather/record insights and provide feedback to the organization; evaluate emerging evidence.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD preferred) or other relevant life science degree (RN/MS/PA/NP).
- 2+ years experience with Type 2 driven respiratory diseases (asthma/COPD) and/or related clinical experience and/or Immunology specialty.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass background check and safely operate a company vehicle.
Preferred:
- Pharmaceutical industry and/or MSL experience.
- Relevant immunology clinical experience.
- Understanding of medical practice/clinical decision making and healthcare systems; ability to interpret scientific data and design/execute research studies.
- Exemplary communication/presentation; multi-disciplinary team experience.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Diplomacy and confident expert opinion; strong professional communication; planning/prioritization.
- Leadership, risk awareness, deep knowledge of pharma non-promotional regulations.
- Scientific expertise; knowledge of healthcare systems, regulatory/payer environment, public health and industry trends; proficiency in digital tools.
