Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Rare Disease β€” Territory: San Diego and Arizona

Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary scientific/clinical resource to Opinion Leaders (OLs), Population Health Decision Makers (PHDMs), and healthcare providers; execute Amgen Medical function/product strategy to improve patient outcomes.
- Engage healthcare partners; educate/communicate clinical and scientific data; provide clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to payers/providers/partners.
- Respond to unsolicited inquiries per MSL compliance standards.
- Present field observations/insights; implement annual scientific engagement plan and local OL plans.
- Support speaker training with updated data.
- Support Amgen-sponsored research (may serve as study lead) and liaise with investigators for non-sponsored research.
- Lead/participate on project teams; support congress activities.
- Maintain clinical expertise and complete required training; may serve as training lead/mentor.

Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree
- OR Master’s + 3 years Medical Affairs experience
- OR Bachelor’s + 5 years Medical Affairs experience

Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (or other doctoral degrees)
- 2+ years biotech/pharma scientific/medical affairs experience
- Exceptional oral/written communication and networking
- Travel up to 60%; may work up to 15-hour days due to travel
- Experience in Rare Disease, Nephrology, Rheumatology
