Responsibilities:
- Identify, establish, and maintain clinical/scientific relationships with Key Thought Leaders (KTLs) and Developing Thought Leaders (DTLs), including physicians, NPs, pharmacists, and researchers.
- Serve as a conduit to investigators and organizations seeking research collaborations with Alkermes.
- Engage with clinical investigators in support of Alkermes-sponsored studies as appropriate.
- Attend and provide Medical Affairs support at scientific conferences.
- Support internal stakeholders with subject matter expertise.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information.
- Deliver clinical presentations and educational information in academic, community, and healthcare provider settings.
- Share field insights with internal colleagues.
- Adhere to Alkermes policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral level preferred in Pharmacy, Medicine, Biological Sciences, Health Services Research, Nursing, or Public Health (Pharm.D., M.D., Ph.D., DNP).
- 1–3 years’ pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, or relevant clinical/medical/research experience.
- Understanding of Medical Affairs and the department’s role in drug development and product commercialization.
- Product launch experience is a plus; CNS therapeutic area experience desired.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership skills and innovative attitude.
- Willingness to travel ~65% within territory, to conferences, and to the home office.
- Flexible to changing priorities; detail-oriented; works well under pressure.
- Level based on experience; advanced candidates may be considered for Senior Medical Science Liaison.
Compensation/Benefits:
- Annual base salary: $180k–$190k; performance-based bonus target; eligibility for long term incentive program; competitive benefits package.
