Medical Science Liaison, Hematology Oncology (TX - Houston)
Territory: South Texas
What you will do
- Interact with Oncology Healthcare Decision Makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform, particularly in prostate cancer.
- Communicate complex scientific and research concepts to healthcare decision makers (including Academic Medical Centers).
- Conduct clinical and pharmacoeconomic value discussions with payers and formulary decision makers.
- Identify and train members of Amgen’s speakers’ bureau and ensure they are updated on new data.
- Respond to investigator sponsored research proposal requests and support Amgen sponsored research.
- Provide scientific support (per MSL compliance standards) for commercial/corporate accounts and matrix colleagues forwarding HCP inquiries.
- Foster scientific relationships between Amgen and Fellows in training.
- Lead and/or participate on committees or project teams supporting MSL strategies as delegated by MSL leadership.
- Mentor MSLs as designated by leadership.
What we expect of you
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree; OR
- Master’s degree + 3 years Medical Affairs experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree + 5 years Medical Affairs experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)
- 3+ years in a medically related field, including 1+ year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research (post-doctoral training counts)
- Current Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs experience at a biotech/pharmaceutical company
- Oncology and/or Hematology expertise
