Medical Science Liaison – Obesity (Northern Ohio)
Territory: Northern Ohio/Cleveland
What You Will Do
- Act as primary scientific/clinical resource to Opinion Leaders (OLs), Population Health Decision Makers (PHDMs), and other healthcare providers; execute Amgen Medical function/product strategy to give accurate information that improves patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Majority of time on peer-to-peer activities with obesity-related OLs, community providers, and PHDMs.
- Engage with clinical investigators/sites for the obesity pipeline.
- Communicate clinical, outcomes, and economic data to PHDMs within assigned IDNs and institutions.
- Connect external/internal stakeholders; conduct in-depth scientific exchange consistent with MSL compliance.
- Support Amgen-sponsored research (may serve as study lead) and liaise with investigators in non-sponsored research.
- Provide field observations/insights to internal stakeholders; lead/support congress activities.
- Support speaker training and keep speakers updated on new data.
- Lead/participate on project teams for MSL strategies/tactics; partner across field roles for a coordinated One Amgen experience.
- Execute administrative responsibilities/training (e.g., Veeva CRM, expense reports, compliance modules).
- Maintain clinical/scientific acumen; build relationships and communicate scientific data.
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree; OR Master’s + 3 years Medical Affairs; OR Bachelor’s + 5 years Medical Affairs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharm.D./Ph.D./M.D./D.O.; 1+ years Medical Affairs; 4+ years medically related field with 1 year in clinical practice/research; 2+ years in MSL role in biotech/pharma with current Scientific/Medical Affairs experience; cardiometabolic/obesity expertise; designated territory experience.
