Medical Science Liaison (MSL) β field-based (covers Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota)
Essential Functions
- KOL Development and Field Engagement:
- Identify/develop peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and HCPs in the therapeutic area
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with US Medical Affairs
- Identify/communicate key clinical and research issues and insights from KOLs to appropriate departments
- Deliver medical education via on-site presentations, investigator meetings, national conferences, advisory boards, and regional meetings
- Provide scientific support for congress staffing, advisory boards, and sales training initiatives
- Scientific Expert:
- Maintain high-level therapy area/product and competitive knowledge
- Establish reputation as a trustworthy scientific/medical information source
- Support Jazz as scientific authority; attend scientific congresses and support KOL activities
- Understand US clinical practice protocols/standards and disease management trends
- Provide clinical presentations in group and one-on-one settings; respond to unsolicited questions as appropriate
- Exchange emerging data and product clinical experience objectively (benefits/risks)
- Support data generation (company-sponsored studies, collaborations, ISTs)
- Medical Affairs Planning and Plan Execution:
- Contribute to US Medical Plan and provide input on local strategies/tactics
- Manage relevant budget as needed for Medical Plan execution
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support Key Account Management
- Work with HCPs on Medical Plan-aligned activities (advisory boards, speaker development, clinical trials)
- Standards and Values:
- Advance medical image through meaningful scientific exchange
- Document/forward adverse events and product complaints per policy
- Adhere to applicable Codes of Practice; act ethically/integrity; serve as company ambassador
- Maintain written development plan; prepare timely reporting
Required
- Neuro-oncology experience
- Ability to research/analyze/communicate complex scientific/medical data
- Clear communication and presentation skills
- Strong planning/organization and attention to detail
- Strategic mindset; self-motivated/autonomous

- Negotiation skills; relationship-building/networking/collaboration
- Strong digital platform/tool capabilities
- Excellent spoken English
- Travel: at least 60% of workdays (driving required)
Preferred
- Prior MSL experience with strong track record
- Knowledge of geography/healthcare environment/external academic and medical experts
- Track record building trust with opinion leaders
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for field-based personnel
Education/Licenses
- Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD or equivalent) + at least 3 years neuro-oncology experience
- OR license (RN, NP, CNP, PA or equivalent) + Masterβs degree or equivalent + at least 5 years clinical practice
- Minimum 2 years as MSL or comparable industry/clinical role
- Willing to travel 60β70%; valid driverβs license; live within 60 miles of a major airport
Benefits (US)
- Base pay range: $160,000β$240,000; may be eligible for annual cash bonus/incentive and discretionary equity
