Role: Medical Science Liaison (MSL) β€” field-based; provides compliant scientific exchange, whole-practice education on disease state, and responds to product-related inquiries.

Responsibilities:
- Manage KOL optometrists/ophthalmologists in a designated region in line with PhRMA and Tarsus guidelines.
- Serve as primary medical affairs KOL contact for day-to-day needs and peer-based scientific exchange (virtual and live).
- Collect and prioritize actionable insights to shape medical strategy.
- Provide whole practice education to optometric/ophthalmic centers.
- Provide disease-state education resources for optometry schools and ophthalmology residency programs.
- Instruct customers (upon request) on investigator-initiated trial and medical information procedures.
- Identify/recommend KOLs for advisory boards, medical education, training, publications, special projects, clinical trials, and business development evaluations.
- Plan and attend KOL engagements and scientific sessions at local/regional/national meetings.
- Liaise with local/regional optometric and ophthalmic societies.
- Present scientific evidence to payer community; provide leadership on medical affairs projects.
- Optimize training/insights gathering/field medical processes; host local disease-state exchanges and β€œlid+lash labs.”
- Participate in cross-functional compliant engagements; provide clinical trial support as needed.
- Manage territory budget, metrics, KOL mapping, and CRM entries.

Qualifications (required):
- Doctorate of optometry, or MD, PharmD, PhD with eye care expertise.

Qualifications (preferred):
- 3+ years MSL experience in eye care; or 3+ years clinical eyecare with 1+ year industry experience; or 7+ years clinical practice in eyecare. Senior level: 4+ years prior MSL experience.

Skills:
- Strong emotional intelligence, presentation, verbal/written communication, decision-making, collaboration, and outcomes focus.
- Ability to plan/organize and manage workload; work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM; ability to analyze data and influence peers.

Other details:
- Travel: 60–80%.
- Territory: WI, IL, IN, Northeast MI (preferred: Chicago, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Milwaukee, WI; Detroit, MI). Must live in assigned territory (preference within 45 minutes of a major airport/metro).

Compensation/benefits (as stated):
- Base pay: $134,200–$188,000; Senior: $165,000–$231,000 + bonus, stock equity, comprehensive benefits (health, dental, vision) and generous paid time off (vacation/holidays/personal days).
