Medical Science Liaison, Inflammation Respiratory, Southern California and Western/Central Arizona
Territory: Southern California (Los Angeles, San Diego) and West/Central Arizona (Phoenix)
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, community HCPs, and Population Health Decision Makers.
- Execute Amgen Medical and product strategy by communicating accurate, balanced, scientifically rigorous information to improve patient outcomes.
- Lead majority peer-to-peer engagement with Respiratory (Upper/Lower), Gastroenterology, and conditions related to product indication expansion.
- Engage with clinical investigators and sites to support the therapeutic area pipeline (if indicated).
- Engage PHDMs within territory health systems/clinics; communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data.
- Connect external and internal stakeholders to amplify patient reach and access.
- Conduct in-depth scientific exchange consistent with MSL compliance standards.
- Support Amgen-sponsored research (may serve as study lead) and liaise with investigators for non-sponsored research.
- Provide/present field observations and insights to internal stakeholders; lead/support congress activities.
- Support speaker training; ensure speakers are updated on new data.
- Lead/participate on project teams supporting MSL strategies; partner across field roles for a coordinated “One Amgen” experience.
- Execute administrative responsibilities and training (e.g., Veeva/ALIGN CRM, expense reports, compliance modules) timely.
Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree + 3 years Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor’s degree + 5 years Medical Affairs experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharm.D./Ph.D./M.D./D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)
- 1+ years Medical Affairs; 4+ years medically related field with 1 year focused on clinical practice/research
- Scientific Affairs/Medical Affairs experience at a biotech/pharmaceutical company
- Respiratory and/or Immunology expertise; experience with designated territory
Travel:
- 60–70% travel for territory management/provider engagement and conference/company meeting attendance
