Medical Affairs
Main Responsibilities
- Build engagement plans with field partners to generate field insights and inform strategic decision-making.
- Serve as trusted scientific partner to external experts/decision-makers via timely scientific engagement.
- Deliver quality scientific presentations on disease state and treatment landscape; communicate benefits, risks, appropriate use, and clinical value.
- Align medical plans with countries’ medical priorities and business priorities.
- Gather and share clinical insights to deepen understanding of patient/provider needs.
- Engage clinical investigators to support pipeline and investigator-sponsored studies (within compliance).
- Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information.
Key Accountabilities
- External Engagement (80%): build peer relationships; use CRM/insights for timely engagement; demonstrate SEM proficiency; prepare external experts for launches; conduct conference engagements; navigate regional/local healthcare environments.
- Internal Collaboration (5%): collaborate compliantly with cross-functional matrix teams on territory/account plans; contribute to internal projects.
- Administrative work (15%): document interactions/insights in CRM within 2 business days; track goals; complete trainings/certifications; maintain account plans; stay current on scientific/tech/regulatory advances; develop/update individual development plan.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in relevant scientific/medical field (MD, PhD, PharmD, NP, MS or equivalent).
- Must reside in territory (MI, WI, IA, MN).
- Minimum 2 years in field medical/MSL in pharma, or demonstrated clinical experience in hemophilia/related hematology.
Preferred
- Prior MSL experience; hemophilia/hematology/rare blood disorder experience; experience with healthcare systems/payers/KOLs/investigators; CRM and digital engagement platform familiarity; self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset.
