Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – field-based (Northeast: NY, CT, RI, MA, NH, VT, ME)
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Identify/develop peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and HCPs in hematology/oncology; execute territory plans aligned with US Medical Affairs.
- Identify/communicate key clinical/research insights from KOLs to appropriate departments.
- Support medical education (on-site HCP presentations, investigator meetings, national conferences, advisory boards, regional meetings).
- Support additional field activities (medical congress staffing, advisory boards).
- Maintain high-level therapy/product knowledge; act as a trusted scientific resource.
- Support Jazz’s hematology/oncology scientific authority; attend scientific congresses.
- Provide clinical presentations and respond to unsolicited questions (as appropriate).
- Communicate emerging data and product clinical experience objectively.
- Contribute to US Medical Plan and local strategies; manage relevant budget (as needed).
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support key account management; interact with HCPs for advisory boards, speaker development, and clinical trials.
- Adhere to codes of practice; act ethically/integrity; document/forward adverse events and product complaints.
Required
- Ability to research/analyze/communicate complex scientific/medical information.
- Clear communication/presentation; strong planning/organization; strategic mindset; self-motivated/autonomous; flexible/results-focused.
- Excellent negotiation; relationship building/networking/collaboration; strong digital tool capability; excellent spoken English.
- Advanced degree (PharmD/MD/PhD or equivalent) + 3 years hematologic malignancies OR RN/NP/CNP/PA or equivalent with Master’s + 5 years hematologic malignancies.
- Minimum 2 years MSL (or comparable) experience.
- Travel ~60%; valid driver’s license; live near a major airport.
Preferred
- Knowledge of geography/healthcare environment and external experts; proven trust-building with opinion leaders; understanding of regulatory requirements for field-based personnel.
Compensation/Benefits (US based)
- Base pay range: $160,000–$240,000.
- May be eligible for annual cash bonus/incentive and discretionary equity.
- Medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and flexible paid vacation.
