Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Field-based (Northeast: NY, CT, RI, MA, NH, VT, ME)
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and HCPs in hematology/oncology.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with US Medical Affairs.
- Identify and communicate key clinical/research issues from KOLs to internal departments.
- Support medical education (on-site presentations, investigator meetings, national conferences, advisory boards, regional meetings).
- Support additional field activities (medical congress staffing, advisory boards).
- Maintain high-level therapy area/product knowledge; serve as a trustworthy scientific resource.
- Provide scientific exchange on emerging data; present clinical information in response to unsolicited questions (as appropriate).
- Contribute to US Medical Plan development and local strategies; where needed, manage relevant budget.
- Collaborate cross-functionally for Key Account Management; support aligned activities (advisory boards, speaker development, clinical trials).
- Adhere to codes of practice, act ethically, document/report adverse events and product complaints.
Required:
- Ability to research/communicate complex scientific/medical information.
- Clear communication/presentation; strong planning/organization; strategic mindset.
- Highly self-motivated; learn quickly; flexible; results-focused.
- Negotiation skills; strong interpersonal/networking/collaboration.
- Digital tools proficiency; excellent spoken English.
- Advanced degree (PharmD/MD/PhD or equivalent) + 3+ years hematologic malignancies OR RN/NP/CNP/PA (or equivalent) + Master’s (or equivalent) + 5+ years hematologic malignancies.
- 2+ years as an MSL or comparable industry/clinical role.
- Willing to travel ~60%; valid driver’s license; live near major airport.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of geography/healthcare environment and external experts.
- Demonstrated trust-building with opinion leaders.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for field-based personnel.
