Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Northeast (NY, CT, RI, MA, NH, VT, ME)
Field-based role within US Medical Affairs.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Identify and develop peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and healthcare providers in hematology/oncology.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with US Medical Affairs.
- Identify and communicate key clinical/research issues and insights from KOLs to internal departments.
- Provide medical education for HCPs via on-site presentations, investigator meetings, national conferences, advisory boards, and regional meetings.
- Support additional field activities (e.g., medical congress staffing, advisory boards).
- Maintain up-to-date, high-level knowledge of therapy area, products, emerging research, therapeutic barriers/trends, and competitive landscape.
- Establish credibility as a trusted scientific/medical information source.
- Attend scientific congresses; support Regional/National/local KOL activities.
- Provide clinical presentations and respond to unsolicited questions (as appropriate) in academic/community/provider settings.
- Communicate emerging data and product clinical experience objectively (benefits/risks).
- Contribute to US Medical Plan development and input local strategies/tactics.
- Manage relevant budget where needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support Key Account Management.
- Document and forward adverse event and product complaint reports per company policy.
- Adhere to national/local Codes of Practice; act ethically and with integrity; follow mission/values; maintain a written development plan; prepare timely reporting.
Required
- Ability to research, critically analyze, and communicate complex scientific/medical information.
- Clear communication/presentation skills; strong planning/organization; attention to detail.
- Strategic mindset; self-motivated; autonomous.
- Flexible, results-focused; strong negotiation.
- Interpersonal relationship-building, networking, collaboration, teamwork.
- Competent with digital platforms/tools.
- Excellent spoken English.
- Advanced degree (PharmD/MD/PhD or equivalent) with 3+ years in hematologic malignancies OR RN/NP/CNP/PA (or equivalent) with Master’s (or equivalent) and 5+ years in hematologic malignancies.
- 2+ years MSL or comparable industry/clinical role.
- Willing to travel ~60%.
- Valid driver’s license; live near a major airport.
Preferred
- Knowledge of geography/healthcare environment and external experts.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust with opinion leaders.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for field-based personnel.
Benefits / Compensation (US based)
- Base pay range: $160,000.00–$240,000.00; possible discretionary bonus/incentive and equity grants; medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and flexible paid vacation.
