Main Responsibilities
- Serve as a field-facing Medical Science Liaison (MSL) and trusted scientific partner; conduct timely, appropriate, and frequent scientific exchanges.
- Execute stakeholder engagement plans to gather data and share medical insights that enhance medical messages, plans, and future research.
- Stay current on medical/scientific developments; identify and assess research opportunities and support evidence-generation in real-world settings.
- Recognize, record, and share insights to understand unmet needs and support regulatory-compliant, non-promotional communication.
Key Accountabilities
- Engage external stakeholders (1:1 and group) with strong disease/clinical knowledge; build long-term peer relationships.
- Use approved material to answer questions and advance understanding of medical/clinical/epidemiologic topics.
- Plan territory and individual stakeholder strategy using the Scientific Engagement Model; support congress presence and educational meetings/boards as requested.
- Gather and report insights; critically evaluate published studies and emerging evidence.
- Collaborate internally (Medical Affairs, Medical Information, Commercial Operations, Regulatory, etc.) for diligence, medical/safety evaluation, positioning, lifecycle evidence, and compliance.
- Support evidence generation: monitor epidemiology; support study/protocol development; identify data collection opportunities; support investigator-sponsored studies.
Context/Challenges
- Operate independently; navigate complex regulatory environments via digital channels and in-person; substantial travel.
Qualifications
- Required: MD, PhD, or PharmD (advanced degree).
- Must reside in the Northwest territory (Northern CA, NV, OR, ID, WA, MT; subject to change).
- Valid driverβs license; ability to pass background check; safe operation of company vehicle.
Experience/Skills (preferred/required)
- Minimum 2 years in pharma/clinical practice or MSL-related experience (MSL preferred).
- Knowledge of healthcare systems, research study design/execution, and ability to interpret/translate scientific data.
- Strong communication/presentation skills; leadership; planning/prioritization; professional diplomacy; proficiency in digital tools.
