Position Summary
The medical science liaison (MSL) is a field-based Medical Affairs professional responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with thought leaders and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) and engaging in scientific exchange in the assigned territory. Serves as a scientific resource and expert supporting Mirum’s rare disease liver portfolio, including medical affairs activities such as medical congress staffing, advisory boards, and cross-collaborative initiatives.

Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Develop professional relationships with thought leaders, HCPs, active/potential study investigators, and professional organizations in assigned geography
- Support research initiatives across development and clinical site investigators
- Liaise with HCPs interested in investigator-initiated research proposal review and consideration
- Engage in scientific exchange in response to HCP requests
- Articulate relevant scientific/clinical information to HCPs and researchers
- Deliver impactful presentations to diverse audiences (advisory boards, patient advocacy groups, payors)
- Provide accurate, unbiased assessment of community needs to senior management
- Within PhRMA guidelines, support company-sponsored research, investigator-initiated research, and publications
- Support planning and execution of advisory boards
- Stay current on emerging scientific literature and clinical data
- Support congress/conference strategy with scientific support and insights
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, regulatory requirements, applicable laws, and PhRMA guidelines
- Complete other assigned responsibilities

Qualifications
- Advanced science or clinical degree (MD, DO, Pharm.D., PhD, NP, PA)
- 5+ years field Medical Science Liaison experience preferred
- Rare disease experience or prior hepatology and/or gastroenterology experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific information
- Strong oral, written, and communication skills
- Frequent travel (up to 60% overnight) and valid driver’s license
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills and business acumen
- Launch experience preferred

Location/Travel
- Live in Florida; territory is Florida and Puerto Rico. No relocation offered.
