The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based professional providing medical and scientific support for Dermatology programs. The MSL engages in scientific exchange with Healthcare Professionals and Managed Markets Customers; helps identify pre-clinical, clinical, and post-marketing study investigators; responds to customer inquiries with balanced clinical/scientific information to support appropriate product use; delivers clinical/scientific information that differentiates products; and provides clinical support and regional/national data presentations.
Territory: Illinois, Northern Indiana, and Wisconsin
Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and maintain long-term collaborative relationships with HCPs, professional organizations, patient advocacy groups, payers, decision makers, and other stakeholders in the assigned therapy area/geography.
- Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in dermatology.
- Present data and conduct balanced peer-to-peer dialogue with HCPs, academic institutions, clinical investigators, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate on scientific communication plans, medical-to-medical materials, and research; facilitate research collaborations (e.g., investigator-initiated trials) and work with Clinical Development on investigator selection/site performance/recruitment.
- Assist in scientific training for Commercial and other internal colleagues using approved materials.
- Support speaker training and advisory boards as requested.
- Represent the company at national and regional medical meetings.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information per policies and procedures.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
- PharmD, PhD, MD, NP, PA, or equivalent.
- 5 years clinical practice and/or pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Ability to build long-term collaborative relationships.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to identify medical engagement opportunities and drive scientific engagement goals.
- Understanding of clinical research methodologies and ability to evaluate/translate scientific material.
- Travel up to ~50% as appropriate.
Preferred:
- Dermatology or Allergy/Immunology experience.
