Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with HCPs and other thought leaders in the territory aligned to medical strategy.
- Engage in non-promotional scientific customer interactions (e.g., emerging data, clinical trial discussions/activities, unmet medical need, pipeline, disease-state/product education, adverse event capture, and medical insights across the product lifecycle).
- Create a strategic territory vision: identify/map/plan Medical Engagements and Key Accounts; identify key stakeholders and partnership opportunities (academic centers/centers of excellence/systems of care); involve HCPs/MEs when medical needs are identified; collaborate internally with relevant Novartis stakeholders.
- Provide clinical trial support for company-sponsored trials; work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (HEOR, access, marketing, commercial, sales) to advance clinical practice with customer centricity.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of therapeutic area, products, internal policies, and external regulations; execute required administrative/training tasks (e.g., Veeva CRM, compliance modules) and keep CRM information current.
- Drive personal/professional development and emerging priorities as territory needs evolve.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in science or healthcare required; doctoral degree preferred (MD/PhD/DNP/PharmD).
- Strong clinical knowledge (pharmacotherapy, treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, medical expert engagement, FDA promotional/ethical guidelines).
- Experience: Manager (0β3 years Field Medical/MSL required; 3β5 years preferred) or Associate Director (3+ years preferred; 5β7 years required).
- Must reside in territory or within 50 miles of territory border; valid driverβs license.
- Travel ~60β70%.
Desirable:
- Prior experience in assigned/related therapeutic area.

- Complete initial training (home study; β€8 hours/day, β€40 hours/week).
