Responsibilities:
- Advance clinical practice in the assigned territory by engaging scientifically with HCPs and medical experts (non-promotional).
- Build relationships with community physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals; engage in emerging data discussions, clinical trial activities, unmet need/pipeline discussions, disease/product education, and adverse event capture; gather actionable medical insights across the product lifecycle.
- Develop a strategic territory plan: identify and map key stakeholders and Medical Engagements/Key Accounts; pursue partnerships with academic centers/centers of excellence/systems of care; identify when to involve HCPs/MEs (e.g., publications, trials); collaborate internally to drive therapeutic/clinical/product goals.
- Support company-sponsored clinical trials and collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the therapeutic area and Novartis compounds; understand policies/regulations affecting day-to-day responsibilities; complete administrative/training tasks (e.g., Veeva CRM, compliance modules, expense reports) and keep CRM information current.
- Champion emerging priorities and proactively drive personal/professional development.

Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in science or healthcare required; doctoral degree preferred.
- Experience: Manager level (0–3 yrs field medical/MSL required or 3–5 yrs relevant medical affairs/clinical research preferred). Associate Director level (3+ yrs field medical/MSL preferred or 5–7 yrs required).
- Strong clinical knowledge (pharmacotherapy, guidelines, clinical research processes, medical expert engagement) and FDA promotional guidelines/regulations/ethical guidance.
- Follow all applicable laws and Novartis Ethics/Compliance/Promotional policies; uphold diversity and inclusion; adhere to company policies and state/federal regulations.
- Reside within territory or within 50 miles of the border; valid driver’s license; ~60–70% travel; field-based customer-facing (face-to-face/virtual/email/phone).

Desirable:
- Prior experience in assigned/related therapeutic area.

Other:
- Driving is essential.
- Customer-facing roles must follow customers’ credentialing requirements (may require vaccination).
- Complete initial training (home study; ≀8 hours/day and ≀40 hours/week).
