Responsibilities:
- Serve as field-based, customer-facing non-promotional MSL to advance clinical practice in assigned territory and improve patient outcomes.
- Build scientific relationships and engage HCPs (physicians, pharmacists, nurses, medical experts, etc.) and thought leaders aligned to medical strategy.
- Lead customer engagements: emerging data discussions, clinical trial activities/support, patient journey barriers, market dynamics/unmet need, pipeline discussions, disease state/product education, adverse event and medical insight capture across the product lifecycle.
- Execute territory vision: identify/map/plan Medical Engagements and Key Accounts; identify key stakeholders, partnership opportunities (academic centers/systems of care), opportunities to involve HCPs/medical experts (publications/trials), and internal collaboration opportunities.
- Provide cross-functional clinical trial support with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (HEOR, access, marketing, commercial, sales) using a One Novartis approach while maintaining compliance.
- Maintain therapeutic area/compound knowledge; comply with internal policies and external regulations.
- Complete administrative/training duties (e.g., Veeva CRM, profiling, compliance modules) and drive personal/professional development.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in science/healthcare required; doctoral degree preferred (MD/PhD/DNP/PharmD).
- 0β3 years field medical/MSL experience required OR 3β5 years medical affairs/clinical research preferred; prior therapeutic area experience preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge (pharmacotherapy, guidelines, clinical research, medical expert engagement) and FDA promotional guidelines/regulations/ethics.
- Must work per law/regulations and Ethics/Compliance/Promotional policies; support diversity and harassment-free environment.
- Reside in territory (VA/NC/SC/GA) or within 50 miles of border; 60β70% travel; valid driverβs license.
- Driving is essential.
