Key responsibilities:
- Leverage scientific expertise and market knowledge to build relationships and engage with HCPs and medical thought leaders aligned with medical strategy.
- Engage customers through emerging data, clinical trial activities, patient journey barriers, market dynamics, unmet medical need, pipeline discussions, disease state/product education, adverse event capture, and medical insights across the product lifecycle.
- Provide strategic territory vision: identify/map/plan Medical Engagements (MEs) and Key Accounts in collaboration with internal teams, including key stakeholder mapping, partnership opportunities (academic centers/systems of care), opportunities to involve HCPs/MEs when medical needs arise (e.g., publications, trial participation), and internal collaboration opportunities.
- Support company-sponsored clinical trials and work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations.
- Collaborate with internal partners (HEOR, access, marketing, commercial, sales) to advance clinical practice with customer centricity and a One Novartis approach.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the therapeutic area and compounds; maintain knowledge of internal policies and external regulations affecting day-to-day work.
- Complete administrative responsibilities/training (e.g., Veeva CRM, communications, expenses, compliance modules) including keeping CRM customer information updated.
- Champion emerging priorities and drive personal/professional development.
Essential requirements (and preferred):
- Graduate degree in science/healthcare required; doctoral degree preferred (MD, PhD, DNP, PharmD, etc.).
- 0β3 years field medical/MSL experience required OR 3β5 years relevant medical affairs/clinical research experience preferred; prior related therapeutic area experience preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge (pharmacotherapy, guidelines, clinical research processes, medical expert engagement) and FDA promotional/regulatory/ethical guideline knowledge.
- Perform duties per applicable law/regulations and Novartis policies; work within Ethics/Compliance/Promotional policies; ensure diverse and inclusive environment.
- Reside within territory or within 50 miles of the territory border; field-based, customer-facing; ~60β70% travel; valid driverβs license.
