Key responsibilities:
- Leverage scientific expertise and market knowledge to build professional relationships and engage scientifically with HCPs and other thought leaders.
- Conduct non-promotional customer engagements (e.g., emerging data discussions, clinical trial activities, barriers in patient journey, market dynamics, unmet need, pipeline discussions, disease/product education, adverse event capture, and medical insights across the product lifecycle).
- Drive strategic territory vision: identify/map/plan Medical Engagements and Key Accounts; identify key stakeholders; partner opportunities with academic centers/centers of excellence/systems of care; involve HCPs/MEs when medical needs are identified (e.g., publications, trial participation); and collaborate internally to achieve therapeutic area/clinical/product goals.
- Provide clinical trial support for company-sponsored trials and work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (HEOR, access, marketing, commercial, sales) to advance clinical practice with compliance and a One Novartis approach.
- Maintain knowledge of the therapeutic area/compounds and relevant policies/regulations; complete administrative tasks (e.g., Veeva CRM, expenses, compliance modules) and training.
- Champion emerging priorities and proactively drive personal/professional development.
Essential requirements:
- Graduate degree in science/healthcare required; doctoral degree preferred.
- 0β3 years field medical (pharma) or MSL required; OR 3β5 years medical affairs/clinical research preferred.
- Strong clinical/pharmacotherapy knowledge; clinical research processes; medical expert engagement; FDA promotional guidelines, regulations, and ethical guidelines.
- Reside within territory or within 50 miles; 60β70% travel; valid driverβs license.
