Key responsibilities:
- Leverage scientific expertise and market knowledge to establish and build professional relationships and engage with HCPs and other thought leaders.
- Engage customers through emerging data discussions, clinical trial activities, identifying barriers in the patient journey, assessing market dynamics, exploring unmet medical need, pipeline discussions, educating on disease state/product, capturing adverse events, and collecting medical insights across the product lifecycle.
- Develop and execute territory strategy: identify/map key stakeholders and key accounts and plan medical engagements aligned to medical strategy; identify partnership opportunities (academic centers, centers of excellence, systems of care); involve HCPs/MEs when specific medical needs are identified (e.g., publications, clinical trials); collaborate internally to advance therapeutic area/clinical/product goals.
- Provide clinical trial support for company-sponsored trials and work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (HEOR, access, marketing, commercial, sales) to advance clinical practice with customer centricity and a β€œOne Novartis” approach.
- Maintain deep knowledge of the therapeutic area/compounds and of internal/external policies and regulations.
- Complete administrative responsibilities and required training (e.g., Veeva CRM, expenses, compliance modules) and keep CRM customer information current.
- Drive personal/professional development as priorities evolve.

Essential requirements:
- Graduate degree in science/healthcare required; doctoral degree preferred.
- 0–3 years field medical/MSL experience required, or 3–5 years relevant medical affairs/clinical research experience preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of pharmacotherapy, treatment guidelines, clinical research, medical expert engagement, and FDA promotional guidelines/regulations/ethics.
- Reside in territory (VA/NC/SC/GA) or within 50 miles commuting distance; 60–70% travel; valid driver’s license.

Driving is essential.

COVID-19: comply with customer credentialing requirements as applicable.

Training: complete initial training, including home study (≀8 hours/day, ≀40 hours/week).
