Role Summary

Medical Science Liaison – Autoantibody Pipeline- Southeast. Field-based role within the Southeast region, with preferred locations in Atlanta, GA or Orlando, Tampa, or Miami, FL. Territory includes Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently demonstrate strategic territory planning and ability to build strong relationships within the territory.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a field strategic plan.
  • Responds in a timely manner to unsolicited scientific inquiries from HCPs, investigators, health care systems, and academic medical centers, integrating scientific data including real-world evidence into practice to meet customer needs.
  • Presents data and information in a manner appropriate to the audience and request.
  • Execute plans regarding reactive and proactive outreaches as approved via the legal/HCC exceptions process.
  • Integrates scientific data into real-life practice to meet customer/audience needs, adapting interpersonal style to particular situations and people.
  • Anticipates the responses of various individuals and teams based on their vantage point and perspective.
  • Prioritize franchise customer-based initiatives and field responsibilities, while balancing administrative duties and project responsibilities.
  • Leverages knowledge of standards of care and Janssen company/investigator-sponsored clinical trials and the competitor landscape to facilitate external-internal research communication.
  • Engages with external investigators regarding unsolicited research inquiries and acts as liaison to R&D, Medical Affairs and operations teams.
  • Provides clinical trial support to identify potential sites, resolve issues with enrolled sites, and participate in meetings as appropriate, including site initiation visits and investigator launch meetings.

Effectively leads at least one scientific or strategic Immunology project, identifying educational gaps and elevating team acumen. Demonstrates strong scientific acumen.

  • Actively participates in team calls, trainings, and journal clubs, understanding current standard of care, and regularly sharing scientific updates.
  • Attends and provides leadership at scientific conferences to gather and understand new scientific information relevant to the company and external community.
  • Medical insights: listen to documents and share medical insights; synthesize data and medical insights for MSL team and partners.
  • Set aside time for self-driven learning on the current scientific landscape.
  • Representing and supporting Johnson & Johnson at relevant scientific or stakeholder meetings including congresses, symposia, advisory boards and investigator meetings; may include speaking engagements.

Qualifications

  • Required: A PharmD, PhD, or MD with 1‚Äì2 years of relevant hematology, immunology, and/or auto/alloimmune clinical or research experience.
  • 1‚Äì2 years of MSL experience, preferably in rare disease.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and general computer/remote technologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 70%.
  • Preferred: Launch experience in rare disease is highly preferred.
  • Significant experience giving presentations is highly preferred.

  • Technical credibility, coaching, and regulatory/compliance awareness.

Education

  • PharmD, PhD, or MD degree as applicable to the role.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel up to 70% as required by field-based role.
