The Position
- Builds relationships and demonstrates the clinical outcome and benefits of Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) products.
- Educates and demonstrates key product benefits to healthcare providers (HCPs).
- Provides medical information and coordinates educational workshops, roundtables, and medical forums.
- Explores and identifies sites for clinical trials in all stages of development.
- Functions as a scientific liaison between NNI and key external customers for scientific exchange.
- Provides advanced product and scientific/medical field support to Medical, Sales, Marketing, Managed Care, and Government.
- Determines and updates territory prioritization based on customer need and analytics; develops and maintains medical (territory/account) plans with Field Director.
Essential Functions
- Completes administrative duties per SOPs; complies with guidelines/policies/legal/regulatory/compliance requirements.
- Manages regional business administration and operational budgets.
- Provides monthly reports on scientific support activities and budget expenditures.
- Records activities in a customer response management system (e.g., Veeva) and expenses in Concur.
- Attends assigned medical/scientific meetings; stays current on issues/new NNI data; maintains relationships with key HCPs and IHNs; supports product utilization.
- Develops account strategy/plan; establishes medical account strategy via key relationships and collaboration opportunities.
- Collaborates with HEOR to deliver scientific value propositions; delivers HEOR presentations upon request.
- Collaborates with Marketing and Sales to develop scientific strategies.
- Coordinates trial/study site work to ensure timely review, initiation, completion, and publication; supports investigator knowledge, recruitment/retention, responsive requests, and site feedback.
- Coordinates regional FMA coverage and system-wide clinical education/support within IHNs.
- Provides scientific/clinical education to Chief Executives, Medical Directors, and formulary stakeholders.
- Develops/presents product and scientific updates, including formulary presentations using approved materials.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree required.
- At least 2 yearsβ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment.
- Demonstrated business acumen (e.g., formulary process decisions).
- Strong communication skills.
Highly Preferred
- Rare Bleeding Disorders and/or Medical Liaison experience.
Physical/Location Requirements
- 50β75% overnight travel.
- Territory: Ohio Valley (KY, OH, PA, WV); field-based and ideal candidate lives in territory or nearby bordering state near a major airport.
- Valid driverβs license; acceptable Motor Vehicle Records status.
