Medical Education & Operations Lead

Position Overview
- Senior leader within Medical Affairs driving operational strategy, execution, and team effectiveness across conference planning, annual medical planning, budget management, contract administration, sponsorships/grants review, internal team training, Extended Medical Leadership Team operations, and other cross-functional initiatives. Reports to Head of Medical Capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
Medical Operations Leadership
- Lead strategic planning and operational oversight of Medical Affairs activities.
- Lead Extended Medical Leadership Team and Department Hot Topics Meetings (agenda, follow-up, initiative coordination).
- Oversee internal medical team training and onboarding.
- Oversee operational processes: budget planning/tracking, contract management, sponsorship/grant governance.
- Lead cross-functional project management for Medical Affairs initiatives.
- Drive process excellence and continuous improvement (tools/systems/scalable ways of working).

Conference Planning & Team Oversight
- Oversee conference planning/execution (pre-congress, onsite, post-congress).
- Coordinate medical meetings/events/congress activities with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Establish processes/accountability for conference logistics, deliverables, and resourcing.

Budget, Contracts, Sponsorships & Grants
- Own/oversee Medical Affairs budget (planning, tracking, forecasting, reconciliation with Finance).
- Lead contract management across vendors/venues/service providers.
- Review/oversee sponsorship and grant processes.
- Identify operational/financial risks and implement improvements.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years relevant experience in pharma/life sciences/medical affairs.
- Event planning/logistics experience highly desirable.
- Strong budget management, contract administration, vendor coordination.
- Proven SharePoint (or similar) digital collaboration platform experience.
- Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal skills.
- Independent, detail-oriented, proactive problem-solver.
- Ability to multitask; travel as required for congress support.
- Team-oriented, professionalism/integrity/customer service focus.
- Leverages AI to drive performance via prioritization and scaled adoption.

Compensation & Benefits (as stated)
- Remote (United States): US $210,572–$255,164.
